Project details

This new 2 storey building has been designed to be a base for community health, social services, post-16 education, community policing and cadets. It includes an IT room, childrens playroom, interview rooms, classrooms and a meeting room.

Liteideas developed the lighting scheme in conjunction with Gareth Moad of Couch, Perry and Wilkes the 'award winning environmental building services consultancy' and included within the design was daylight dimming and absence detection to limit lighting energy use and LED external feature lighting.

The lighting was supplied by Liteideas parent company Litetask Limited and installed by Leeds based electrical contractor, Morfitts who are part of the York based J H Shouksmith and Sons Limited.

The building has been named The Moyes Centre at David Young Community Academy in recognition of the work of DYCA founding chairman of governors Hartley Moyes, who was also instrumental in its creation.
